Honda unveiled the new Talon with the tagline “LIFE IS BETTER SXS” at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto show and was received with much positive fanfare.
Designed by Honda’s U.S. research and development teams in Los Angeles and Ohio, Honda announced they would also be built in America.
Honda has built a strong reputation on reliability and those in the enthusiast community have been eagerly anticipating Honda’s first venture into the performance UTV market. Everything you could want to know about the new machines was announced at the LA show except one thing. Price.
We learned today that the Talon 1000X has been announced with a MSRP of 19,999 and the Talon 1000R will be available with a MSRP of 20,999.
Both the Talon 1000R and the Talon 1000X are powered by 999cc liquid cooled UNICAM® Twin Parallel engines and six-speed automatic transmissions, with both high and low range gear capabilities. The 1000R is more race inspired with a longer wheelbase, wider track width and more travel. The 1000X is designed to be more nimble being 4.4″ more narrow and 5.1″ shorter.
The Talon is naturally aspirated and has been built to compete against models like the Polaris RzR XP1000 (MSRP $18,599), Wildcat XX (MSRP $20,699) and Yamaha YXZR (MSPR $20,999).
The 2019 Honda Talon 1000R and Talon 1000X will be hitting dealer showrooms in April.
