Course Length Announced for 2019 King of the Hammers

Course lengths for the 2019 Ultra4 King of the Hammers in Johnson Valley, CA have been announced. What is considered by many to be the toughest one day endurance race on the planet is being made even tougher by making the course approximately 15% longer than last year’s event.

Dave Cole, founder of Ultra4 Racing, has added an additional 32 race miles to the course. The 4900 UTV class, along with the 4500, 4600 and 4800 classes will all be running 165.9 total miles in the two lap race. The unlimited 4400 class will be running an additional 76.6 miles lap that will bring their total to 242.5 miles.

  • 4900, 4400, 4500, 4600 and 4800 Lap 1 – 91.8 miles
  • 4900, 4400, 4500, 4600 and 4800 Lap 2 – 74.1 miles
  • 4400 only lap 3 – 76.6 miles

This year’s event will also include a trophy truck class that will be running four laps totaling 280.2 miles.

King of the Hammers is an annual event that takes place over the course of a week. This year Hammertown opens on Febuary 1. UTV qualifying takes place the next day and then the UTV race happens on Sunday. More information about King of the Hammers can be found at ultra4racing.com.
